Originally the property was a farmhouse (still the oldest section of the property) owned by a German family (Mike Theile) who converted it into a restaurant serving exclusive German Cuisine – especially the German Schnitzel. In 1970, Mike and his Chef Sadie gained so much popularity that people use to come by chopper, just to enjoy the schnitzel and high-end liquor.

Over the years with the success of the venture the family added a dining room, a banquet hall and 14 rooms for the guests to stay over.
